How it works

  • Total finished length = Σ (Piece length × Quantity)
  • Material cost = Stock pieces required × Price per stock piece
  • Material yield = Total finished length ÷ (Stock pieces required × Stock length) × 100

Assumptions and limitations

One shaku is 10/33 metre; one sun is 1/10 shaku and one bu is 1/100 shaku. Set shaku per ken explicitly because building modules vary. All entered lengths use the chosen unit; kerf is always millimetres. The output is a one-dimensional stock-cutting estimate, not a structural design or a legal trade measurement.
