UUID v4 generator
Generate random version-4 UUIDs for test records, prototypes and identifiers. Choose a batch size, generate and copy one identifier per line. The browser supplies cryptographic random bytes; no remote generation service is used.

How it works
- Sixteen random bytes are generated, version bits set to 4 and variant bits to binary 10. Bytes are rendered as lowercase hexadecimal in the standard 8-4-4-4-12 layout. Each generation creates fresh identifiers.
- Worked example
- xxxxxxxx-xxxx-4xxx-yxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx; y ∈ {8,9,a,b}
Assumptions and limitations
Batches contain 1–100 UUIDs. RFC 9,562 fixes version and variant bits, leaving 122 random bits. Collisions are extremely unlikely but not impossible; enforce uniqueness where required. A UUID is an identifier, not an authentication credential, password or guarantee of secrecy.
How to use this tool
Choose the count and generate UUIDs. Copy or download the list; generating again creates a fresh batch of version 4 identifiers.
When this is useful
Create development fixtures or draft record identifiers. Random identifiers have collision risk, however small; they are not passwords, access tokens or proof of record ownership.
