How it works

  • Absolute value: C = (F−32) × 5/9; K = C+273.15; K ≥ 0; Difference: ΔC = ΔF × 5/9 = ΔK
  • Worked example: 0 °C = 32 °F = 273.15 K; −40 °C = −40 °F; Δ1 °C = Δ1.8 °F
  • Supported input limits: Value: -1000000000000 ≤ x ≤ 1000000000000

Assumptions and limitations

Conversion uses the named unit definition and the same physical dimension. The international foot, avoirdupois mass, US liquid/imperial volumes, thermochemical calories and international-table BTU are distinct conventions. Mechanical horsepower is 745.6998715822702 W; metric horsepower is 735.49875 W. Pressure conversion preserves its gauge/absolute reference. Temperature differences use scale factors without offsets.
