Time-lapse planner
Plan frame count and playback duration, or solve the interval for a target video length. Change the inputs to update the chart or diagram.
Your inputs
These editable values illustrate the calculation. Replace them with your own inputs. Results update as you edit.
Calculations run in your browser. Inputs are not saved or sent to analytics.
How it works
- Frame count = floor( / ) + 1; Finished video duration = Frame count /
- Target video length: Frame count = ceil( × ); = / (Frame count − 1)
- Worked example: 3,600 / 5 + 1 = 721; 721 / 30 = 24.03333333 s

Assumptions and limitations
A frame starts at time zero; subsequent starts include the end of the capture window when divisible by the interval. Exposure completion is outside this window definition. Target mode rounds frame count up and spans both endpoints; it needs at least two frames and positive capture time. Up to 10 million frames; exposure cannot exceed the interval. Camera write time and dropped frames are excluded.
