Room modes and acoustics
Explore rectangular-room resonances and an ideal mode’s pressure pattern. Drag the graph handles to change inputs and explore the result.
Your inputs
The editable example is illustrative. Enter your own dimensions, operating data, prices, and fees. Results update as you edit.
Calculations run in your browser. Inputs are not saved or sent to analytics.
How it works
- f = /2 × √((/)² + (/)² + (/)²); p ∝ cos(πx/) × cos(πy/) × cos(πz/)

Assumptions and limitations
The model assumes a rectangular room with rigid walls and uniform sound speed. Mode indices set the preview independently of the table filters. Furniture, damping and speaker placement are excluded; this is not a measured response. Example: a 5 × 4 × 2.5 m room at 343 m/s has axial fundamentals 34.3, 42.875 and 68.6 Hz.
