How it works

  • Vavailable = × (1 − /100)
  • Bfull = floor(Vavailable / ); Vremaining = Vavailable − Bfull ×
  • Servings = floor(Vavailable / )

Assumptions and limitations

Bottle size is actual fill volume; losses apply before bottling. Servings are an alternative use of all available wine, not additional wine after bottling. The last partial bottle is counted separately. Does not model headspace, aging or carbonation. 20 L less 5% gives 25 full 750 mL bottles and 250 mL remaining.
