Tile grout quantity
Estimate grout mass from tiled area, tile dimensions, joint width and filled depth. Enter mixed-product density and an allowance. The model calculates the joint area once, avoiding double-counting where horizontal and vertical joints meet.

How it works
- Joint area share = (1 − ( × ) ÷ (( + ) × ( + ))) × 100
- Mixed grout mass with allowance = × × (Joint area share ÷ 100) × × (1 + ÷ 100)
- Worked example
- 10 × 8 × (1 − 300² ÷ 303²) × 1.6 × 1.1 ≈ 2.774317 kg

Assumptions and limitations
Uniform rectangular tiles form an infinite repeating grid; perimeter corrections, irregular joints and deep voids are excluded. Density must describe mixed grout in kg/L, not dry powder bulk density. Manufacturer coverage and recommended depth take precedence over this estimate. The result is mixed mass, not dry powder bag weight.
