Shipping dimensional weight
Compare actual and dimensional weight using your carrier’s divisor and rounding rules. Change the inputs to update the chart or diagram.
Your inputs
Values shown are editable examples; verify your own measurements and product specifications. Results update as you edit.
Calculations run in your browser. Inputs are not saved or sent to analytics.
How it works
- Dimensional weight = × × / ; Estimated billable weight = ceil(max(, Dimensional weight) / ) ×
- Worked example: 40 × 30 × 20 / 5,000 = 4.8 kg; max(3, 4.8) → 5 kg

Assumptions and limitations
Use external packed dimensions in cm and weight in kg. The divisor is cm³/kg; 5,000 and a 1 kg increment are editable examples, not universal carrier rules. Optionally round each dimension upward to whole cm, calculate volume/divisor, then round the greater of actual and dimensional weight upward by the entered weight step. Excludes service-specific minimums, oversize surcharges, multi-package aggregation and prices. Confirm the exact service and contract rules.
